The Government in the United States of America is represented by a Council of 50 Chancellors (The North American Grand Council) nominated for appointment by the Grand Master of the Order. All Chancellors act as Ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary (or Ministers) of the Central Government (The Chancellery) and they are the highest ranking individuals to represent the Order in their appointed States. Their work is to advise and assist the Grand Master in any given area and to represent the Order to all official entities and in all official ceremonies.
